Spirals in charcoal,1990s 🌀
Excerpts from Krebs’ drawing text from Untitled (Yellow Rose), Rockne Krebs, 1988.
“Why the spiral? Neither rose nor
galaxy nor atom nor seashell
nor tornado need ever ask; but we
the perceivers of the design must
know, must understand. I must make
a large crystal-glass Rose using the
C.W. [Crystal Willow] glass technique. The spiral is a manifestation of energy, force, growth, motion & it was as essential to the Crystal Willow as the Rose.
